In the Middle Ages
religion was different from now.But have you thought that religion in
the movies is similar than in the relgion in that time?
Relgion in the
Midddle Ages , was very powerull and also it had a lot of influence
over the society, but they also had cedar;a big part of the
chriristianity.
On the borders
separating the European kingdoms a new union called Christianity was
born. The Christian world was divided in two: Orient by the church
and accident by the Roman Catholic church. In accident the church is
joined to feudal society. One of the circunstances that explains the
influence of the church is the natural dominance of the clergy. The
only educated class during the Middle Ages, the peasants, because of
their overwhelming work and the nobles, because of their little
preoccupation for life. In those years, not being part of the church
was to be on the fringes of knowledge. In religious power the
priesthood was influential, both in politics and religion. In Europe
there was rivalry between popes and kings, priests and lords;
sometimes even between popes themselves. The church became corrupt
because things could be exchanged by money.
In Robin Hood,
religion is as we have described it here, although some things have
changed in the movie. Things that are similar is that it was a
Christian religion. From our point of view the church in the movie
was quite similar to the real one.
Here we have an
example of a Christian church:
SANT MARTIN DE TOURS
CHURCH
It is located
in Palencia;Castilla y Leon.
The exterior
appearance of the church is characteristic of the
Romanesque style. Its low naves include the octagonal dome over
the transept and the two cylindrical towers on both sides of the main
façade. The three naves, with a barrel vault, the central one wider
and higher than the lateral ones, end in three circular apses. The
also have solid walls with some windows.
Our finally opnion is that religion ahd the churches have changed a
lot than religion and churches are now. So we are proud, we have born
in a modern and free era where people can think and do what they
want to.
