Four armies of Crusaders were formed from troops of different Western European regions.
Crusaders fight against Muslims and Turkish invading the European unin.This crusade occured because they were trying to invade the Holy Land.
2nd-Started in 1147-49
In the short period during the first and the second crusade most of crusaders departed for home.The goverment established four settlements in Jerusalem.The Muslims started to gain lands fighting against the Franks.The Christian authority’s called for another being ed by 2 kings: King Louis VII of France and King Conrad III of Germany , so the second crusade began. The two kings , invade Jerusalem by attacking Damascus army, but then Damascus combined Muslim forces and defeated the crusaders.
3rd-Started in 1187-92
Between this period , it was the fall of Jerusalem.
After numerous attemps by the crusaders of Jerusalem to capture Egypt, Nur al-Din’s the army of Saladin, forced the crusaders armies to evacuate.
Saladin began a major campaign against the crusader kingdom of Jerusalem. His tropos destroyed the Christian army, taking back to Jerusalem.
4,5,6,7th-Started in 1208-54
Between this, it was the fall of Constantinople.
Variety of Crusades aimed not so much to topple Muslim forces in the Holy Land but to combat any and all of those seen as enemies of the Christian faith.
The Albigensian Crusade aimed to root out the heretical Cathari or Albigensian sect of Christianity in France. Children’s Crusade took place in when thousands of young children vowed to march to Jerusalem.
In the Fifth Crusade, put in motion by Pope Innocent III before his death , the Crusaders attacked Egypt from both land and sea but were forced to surrender to Muslim defenders led by Saladin.
In what became known as the Sixth Crusade, Emperor Frederick II achieved the peaceful transfer of Jerusalem to Crusader control through negotiation with al-Kamil. The peace treaty expired a decade later, and Muslims easily regained control of Jerusalem.
From 1248 to 1254, Louis IX of France organized a crusade against Egypt. This battle, known as the Seventh Crusade, was a failure for Louis.
